The Latest COVID-19 government financial assistance and support for South Australian businesses and individuals.

To assist South Australian individuals and businesses who suffer a significant loss of income or have been forced to close as a result of the state’s seven-day lockdown, the Marshall Liberal Government has offered some emergency cash grants as part of a major financial assistance package.

Please see the below information that might be of assistance to you during this time.

Federal Government COVID-19 Disaster Payment — For Individuals

Individuals may be eligible for the payment if they have lost between 8 and less than 20 hours of work for a payment of $375, and for 20 or more hours of work for a payment of $600 during the period of the lockdown.

This application can be submitted via myGov online.

Anyone who is required to self-isolate by South Australian health directions is also eligible for payments of $1,500 to support them to replace lost income. SA COVID-19 Business Support Grant — July 2021 — For Business

If you meet the following conditions, a $3,000 grant will be available (for employing businesses) that:

  • Are located within South Australia.
  • Have an annual turnover of $75,000 or more in 2020-21 or 2019-20, and be registered for GST.
  • Have a valid and active ABN (Australian Business Number).
  • Must employ people in South Australia.
  • Experienced at least a 30 per cent reduction in turnover in the week of Tuesday 20 July 2021 – Monday 26 July 2021 (inclusive) (compared to the prior week) due to restricted trading conditions.

If you meet the following conditions, a $1,000 grant will be available (for non-employing businesses) that:

  • Are located within South Australia.
  • Have an annual turnover of $75,000 or more in 2020-21 or 2019-20, and be registered for GST.
  • Have a valid and active ABN (Australian Business Number).
  • Experienced at least a 30 per cent reduction in turnover in the week of Tuesday 20 July 2021 – Monday 26 July 2021 (inclusive) (compared to the prior week) due to restricted trading conditions.

You will have until 30 September 2021 to submit the application for a Business Support Grant.

To complete this form, you will need:

  • Your Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Your most recent Business Activity Statements
  • Bank account details
  • Not-for-profits not registered for GST are required to attach evidence that turnover in 2019-20 or 2020-21 is above $75,000
  • A valid email address

Please note, a simplified application process is being used for businesses that were paid grants in either Round 1 or Round 2 of the COVID-19 Small Business Grants programs based on having already satisfied a number of the eligibility criteria.
